House Republicans signaled Wednesday that they intend to keep pushing to fund targeted parts of the government. "We are going to take every issue that is out there that we have agreement on, and put it on the floor," Majority Leader Eric Cantor said at a news conference on the second day of the government shutdown. The House will vote Wednesday on five separate measures to fund certain parts of government: veterans benefits, national parks, the D.C. government, the National Institutes of Health and the National Guard. Cantor told reporters that the GOP would consider bills to fund other parts of the government, like Head Start, as well.
